Explain: This is my footprint to introduce myself. The picture of the northern logo is on there because I go to Northern and will get my degree from Northern. The Polaroid picture is of my cat. I put a picture of my cat on it because I like to snuggle my cat and nap with her when I have free time. She is also my only pet. The next picture is of Sica Hollow. I put this picture on there because I love to go to Sica Hollow in the fall and spring when the leaves are changing. It is so pretty when the leaves are changing, and it is a good place to hike/walk the trails at, which I love to do. The next picture is of a camper in the sunset/sunrise. I put this on here because I love to camp when it is nice out as I love the outdoors. I also love to watch the sunset/sunrise when I can because it is pretty, so that picture is on there for two reasons. The next thing is the crayon. I put the crayon on there because I am going to Northern to be a teacher in special education or in a general education classroom. I will graduate Northern with a degree in special education and elementary education, and then eventually go off and teach somewhere. Lastly, there is a drawing of the beach with the sun at the top. I drew a beach because I love to go there and swim. I also like to go to see the view and collect seashells. Collecting seashells is a pretty recent hobby I got into and I love it. That is my footprint project.
Extension Activity: One way I could incorporate this project into my classroom is by having all the students make one. Then, we would all share our footprints to the class, and we would be able to see what other students love to do, and maybe what their culture is like if they add that to their footprint. This is a good way for me to get to know the class and my students. This is also a good way for the class to get to know each other.
